Data produced from a product that targets and reads pre-selected genetic variations, within human DNA (i.e. the human genome). Genome-wide means that the product covers variants that span the full 23 chromosomes of all humans (typically targeting at least 500,000 variants). Today, most direct-to-consumer genetic testing products are DNA genome-wide microarrays including 23andMe, AncestryDNA, FamilyTree DNA and MyHeritage.
